Between April 2008 and October 2010 our experienced project team of dedicated staff from Mossbank Homes, Arcus Consulting and Simon Fenton Partnership, designed and prepared the project specification. The aim of the project was to meet and address residents’ requirements and aspirations as outlined in the offer document.

This initial phase of the programme focused on internal property improvements. The package of improvements included – new kitchens and bathrooms, full rewires and the installation of gas central heating. New front and rear security doors and new uPVC windows to all properties. External upgrades included  canopies to the front door. Additional optional extras such as the provision of burglar alarms, sheds, electric fires and surrounds or even a small patio could be chosen by our tenants and included in the works.

As part of the improvement works we worked with Warm Front  to ensure all Mossbank Homes had the required level of insulation in the roof space and wall cavities. For more information on energy efficiency steps Mossbank are taking please click the link to the Energy Performance page.

In addition, work is well underway to develop improvements to the local environment on our estates.  We have begun to make changes to garage areas, improve parking, external lighting and a range of other areas identified by the consultation carried out with residents. Mossbank worked in conjunction with Groundwork to bring forward elements of the environmental plan and complete ‘Quickwins’ across the estates. The ‘Quickwin’ projects were designed to have an immediate visual impact or to resolve health and safety issues.

We can happily report that as of October 2010  this initial phase of improvement works has been successfully completed. Success can be measured via many sources - the physical change or by improved performance. For us the true measure of this projects success has to be the feedback from tenants and the satisfaction figures support this.
